Hello and welcome! I was born and raised in West View, moved to Los Angeles for 18 years as an adult, relocated back to McCandless Township—and then six years ago, my life came full circle when I returned to West View. I was inspired to start WVCA after the death of my beloved husband of 30 years, Wally. I found comfort and healing in helping to beautify the area around the Beechmont Steps, the same ones I’d spent so much time on as a youngster. That gardening project, along with volunteers and support from residents and community leaders, has led to many others in an effort to improve and preserve the treasures that we have in West View.
-Lynn Webster, Founder
As a proud native of West View and the founder of WVCA, my family roots in the area date back to the 1900s! My Great Uncle, John Muzzio, served as one of the first council members on the West View Council. Also, my cousin, Paul Muzzio, was the original owner of the West View Sandlot football team and my Uncle John Siterly helped to established St. Luke’s Lutheran Church on Center Avenue. With so many years of my family being public figures in the community, I also love giving back to the community through gardening projects, donating services to West View events, being a judge at the Halloween parade, hosting street block parties, and assisting with the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Community Center Health and Wellness Fair. My love for our community is unconditional, which has led me to establish our nonprofit West View Community Association to make our neighborhoods and West View community a beautiful place to live!
-Frank Polito, Co-Founder
As a 10-year resident of West View, I am immensely proud of the community I live in and I'm extremely committed to its future growth and prosperity. I have always valued building positive, long-term relationships; I believe that people love interacting with others that they trust and with whom they have a great rapport. When people know you care about them and that you are genuine at heart then the relationships you will have with them and the impact you make in their lives will last forever.
